The mandap is the canopy under which a wedding ceremony takes place.
This was our booth at the Expo. It is very large underneath and we were able to showcase many of our talents.
We shared our booth with the Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, FL (a favorite venue of ours). It can accommodate the large number of guests invited to Indian weddings. Tammie Bryant is their Social Catering Manage.
The show was held at the Wyndham Orlando Resort. Thanks to Donna and Shelley we were able to set up early. A great team who know how to make customs & traditions come to life.
Raj, the producer, quickly became our new best friend, watching as we brought our booth to life.
Our centerpiece was an arrangement of calla lilies surrounded by a variety of orchids.
Dan loves the manzanita branches which we used on our dessert table.
Colors are so important in this culture. Mango calla lilies were gathered for this bouquet and the handle was wrapped in clear crystals.
Our elephant was a big draw. People came in just to check him out. It was fun decorating him with the flowers at hand.
We gave him a diamond eye.
All of the Indian weddings we have done utilitize vast amounts of orchids. Dan designed this bouquet and wrapped the handle in gold wire. Check out the close up....
This table setting was at a booth nearby and it just so happens we have the same linens.
Diamond jewelry was on display and Devotie our of Boca Raton, FL stole the show.
Bridal Henna should be applied 1-3 days before the wedding to allow the henna stain time to mature and deepen. Traditionally the grooms initials are hidden in the patterns. The groom must search for the initials on the wedding night, if he can't find his initials he is expected to give a gift to his new bride! We think Amrit Palace in Ocala, FL makes the best Gulab Jamun. They donated the dessert and poeple kept coming back for more...they are the best!!!
the fashion show was so exciting. Unfortunately, the lighting on the models made it hard for me to take good photographs.
We caught some of them walking around the show later and I got a good shot.
